How to Set Up Your Own Domain on Mxsec Servers

The following DNS records must be added to your domain's DNS configuration:

A Record mail.yourdomain.com Mxsec Mail Server IP (provided in your activation email)
A Record webmail.yourdomain.com Mxsec Server IP (provided in your activation email)
MX Record yourdomain.com (or @) mail.yourdomain.com (Priority: 10)
TXT Record dkim._domainkey.yourdomain.com DKIM public key (provided in your activation email)
TXT Record _dmarc.yourdomain.com DMARC policy record (provided in your activation email)
TXT Record yourdomain.com (or @) SPF authorization record (provided in your activation email)

Note: Once your new DNS settings have fully propagated, we will finalize setting up your new email accounts.

How to Activate Your New Email Account

  1. Check Your Inbox
    Look for an activation email sent to your contact address containing your new email credentials and a temporary password.
  2. Log In to Webmail
    Go to webmail.mxsec.org and log in using your new email address and temporary password.
  3. Set a New Password
    On your first login, you will be automatically prompted to create a new, secure password.
  4. Start Using Webmail
    Once your password is updated, your webmail account is active and ready to use.

Setting Up an Email Client (Outlook, Thunderbird, Mobile, etc.)

If you prefer to use an email app instead of webmail, use the following server settings:

Incoming Mail (IMAP)

  • Server: mail. + your domain (e.g., mail.pissouri.org)
  • Port: 143
  • Security / Encryption: STARTTLS
  • Username: Your full email address
  • Password: Your new password

Outgoing Mail (SMTP)

  • Server: mail. + your domain (e.g., mail.pissouri.org)
  • Port: 587
  • Security / Encryption: STARTTLS
  • Authentication Required: Yes
  • Username / Password: Full email address & your new password
